From July 12 to 15, the top projects from the Second APEC Innovation Competition (2025–2026) are taking part in a study tour, investment networking, and trade promotion program in Singapore organized by the APEC Institute of Entrepreneurship Research and Training.

Representing LHU are lecturer Bui Xuan Canh and student Bui Binh Minh from the Faculty of Information Technology. They brought to Singapore their project, “DotRead E-Braille: An AI-Powered Electronic Braille Book for the Visually Impaired”, which recently won first prize at the Second APEC Innovation Competition (2025–2026). Among numerous projects nationwide, it is one of only two Vietnamese projects with the highest achievements selected to participate in the pitching session.

Notably, the project was recognized for its strong pitching potential and its ability to meet all criteria required for participation in the international investment networking program. The opportunity opens doors to leading investment funds and startup ecosystems across the region.

The project integrates AI with electronic Braille technology, enabling visually impaired individuals to access books and digital resources more conveniently. By narrowing barriers to knowledge, the initiative also demonstrates the humanitarian value of technology in serving the community.

As part of the program at Singapore Management University (SMU), LHU representatives will directly introduce the project and present its business model and product development strategy to investors, businesses, and international startup support organizations in Singapore. This key activity aims to foster partnerships, attract investment, promote technology transfer, and expand into international markets.

In addition to the pitching sessions, the LHU delegation will engage in a series of activities designed to connect participants with Singapore’s innovation ecosystem, including visits to SMU, One-North, and BLOCK71—Asia’s leading innovation and startup incubation hubs. The delegation will also attend intensive training programs on startup strategy, fundraising skills, business valuation, and technology enterprise development. These hands-on experiences are expected to further refine the project, strengthen participants’ global competencies, and create new opportunities for future growth.

The selection of LHU’s project to represent Vietnam in the program not only highlights the research and innovation capabilities of the University’s faculty members and students, but also demonstrates the effectiveness of LHU’s educational model in integrating academic training with scientific research, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer. From the classrooms of LHU to international innovation forums, LHU students are steadily bringing Vietnamese intellect to the global stage, further enhancing the university’s reputation and reaffirming its position on the path toward international integration.
