LHU renews AUN-QA Accreditation for four programs, with many criteria rated "Better Than Adequate"

LHU's Pharmacy, Business Administration, English Language, and Accounting programs have successfully completed their AUN-QA re-accreditation. The results, announced by the AUN-QA Secretariat, show that many criteria were rated “Better Than Adequate”, marking a significant improvement over the 2021 assessment.

The results recognize five years of continuous improvement since the four programs first received AUN-QA accreditation. In addition to maintaining quality assurance conditions, the programs demonstrated the effective improvements through evidence-based documentation, data, and feedback from relevant stakeholders. To date, LHU has 18 AUN-QA-accredited academic programs and two ABET-accredited programs, reflecting the University's commitment to quality assurance aligned with regional and international standards.

The reassessment was conducted as part of the 523rd AUN-QA Programme Assessment, held at LHU from 9–11 June 2026. The assessment panel, comprising experts from the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Cambodia, reviewed documentary evidence, inspected learning facilities, and met with University leaders, faculty members, students, alumni, employers, and representatives of support units.

Compared with the 2021 assessment, all four programs demonstrated improvements across multiple criteria, with a notable increase in the number of criteria rated “Better Than Adequate”. These results indicate that the recommendations made by the AUN-QA assessors during the previous assessment cycle have been systematically implemented and translated into measurable quality improvements.

One of the foundations of the University's continuous improvement efforts is its data-driven quality assurance system. Activities ranging from curriculum design and learning outcome assessment to student and employer surveys, course reviews, and continuous improvement are conducted through digital platforms and monitored using quality indicators.

Notably, LHU has developed its own learning outcomes assessment software, which supports data collection and analysis to determine the extent to which students achieve the program learning outcomes and develop appropriate improvement plans.

Alongside its quality assurance efforts, the University has accelerated digital transformation in university governance and expanded the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning. Lecturers use digital tools and AI to develop learning materials, build question banks, and analyze student learning outcomes. Students also have access to smart learning platforms that support independent learning, research skills, and adaptation to professional requirements in an increasingly digital context.

The successful re-accreditation of the four programs also reflects the continued advancement of the University's institution-wide quality assurance system. LHU is also the first higher education institution in Vietnam and Southeast Asia to achieve AUN-QA Institutional Accreditation under Version 3.0.

In parallel with its quality assurance activities, LHU continues to expand its international partnerships. Through its collaboration with Cintana Education and Arizona State University, the United States, the University is gaining access to advanced models of university governance, innovating its academic programmes, and expanding opportunities for students to study in an international learning environment.

The successful AUN-QA re-accreditation in 2026 not only affirms the quality of these four academic programs but also demonstrates the effectiveness of LHU's strategic focus on data-driven governance, technology-enabled innovation, and learner-centered education. These achievements provide a strong foundation for the University to further strengthen educational quality, enhance its global competitiveness, and deepen its integration into regional and international higher education.
